Little or no progress made yesterday … They didn’t talk economics, well maybe they did … ALB sides with NHL

  • Darren Dreger via twitter: The “Big Four,” Bettman, Daly and both Fehr’s met for an hour yesterday morning, accomplished little.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: No surprise that yesterday’s afternoon meetings ended with little or no progress. There won’t be progressive reports until the key issues are negotiated.
  • Pat Leonard via twitter: Bill Daly said that Don Fehr and Gary Bettman were expected to touch base last night or this morning.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: The NHL said there was no talks on main economics. Steve Fehr said there was.
  • Dan Rosen via twitter: Daly, “We had no discussion of the major economic issues or system issues so that continues to be a disappointment from our perspective.”
  • Renaud Lavoie via twitter: Drug testing was discussed.
  • Dan Rosen via twitter: NHLs message to PA, “we understand that they’ve been working on some concepts, some ideas…just make the proposal.”
  • Scott Burnside of ESPN: The Alberta Labour Board ruled with the NHL, giving them the right to lockout players in Alberta. If they ruled for the NHLPA, Oilers and Flames players would have received their pay and would have been able to use team facilities.
