  • Bob McKenzie: “NHL and NHLPA yesterday officially signed off on final accounting of 2012-13 season, when clubs overspent cap by about $265M. So each NHL club will soon get more than $5M from the NHLPA escrow fund. They’ve known for awhile they getting it, but it’s now official.”
  • Chris Johnston: Bobby Clarke, David Poile and Luc Robitaille are replacing Pat Quinn, Jim Gregory and Serge Savard on the Hockey Hall of Fame’s selection committee.
  • Aaron Vickers: In 1992 the Flames signed Teemu Selanne to an offer that was about $1.5 million more than the Jets offered him. Selanne remembering: “Absolutely, all the time. It’s funny how things work. I remember that day. I have a lot of respect for that, that they wanted me. Things happen for a reason but it’s still fun to think about that, if they wouldn’t, how life would’ve been.”
  • Dobber Hockey: Quick Numbers: “Of the Top 32 scorers before the break, 27 of them played in Olympics. Of Top 32 since break, 18 played in Sochi.”
  • Adrian Dater: Avs Semyon Varlamov will start tonight and Saturday.
