- Harvey Fialkov of Sun Sentinel: Panthers 2014 1st round pick Aaron Ekblad suffered a concussion in team Canada’s under-20 World Juniors development camp.
“We have been in communication with Team Canada and have mutually agreed to hold Aaron out for the remainder of the summer development camp as a precautionary measure,” Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon said in a statement. “We will closely monitor Aaron’s health for the remainder of the offseason and expect him to be ready for our rookie camp in mid-September.”
- David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News: The Kings and Sharks will meet at Levi’s Stadium on February 21st for an outdoor game. In a few years, another outdoor could be heading back to the Bay Area at AT&T, the home of MLBs SF Giants.
“My guess is that we will, in the next few years, be back and we’ll probably be up at AT&T. What we’re trying to do ultimately with this game is get more people into hockey and the more people that can see it, the better,” Renzulli said. “If we can show Santa Clara and that area what we have to offer outdoors and then bring it up to San Francisco in a few years, it’s a win-win for everybody.”
Season ticket holders can start buying tickets for the game at Levi Stadium today, with the general public being able to buy tickets likely in late September or early October. Tickets will range from $65 to $350.
