  • Craig Custance: Negotiations between RFA Ryan Ellis and the Predators are not going anywhere. Will likely miss the start of camp. The Predators don’t want to trade him, but if this situations drags out ….
  • Michael Russo: Wild GM Chuck Fletcher on Darcy Kuemper’s agent: He’s indicated he wants a one-way deal, but I don’t recall if he ever presented anything formally.
  • Michael Russo: Fletcher on Kuemper: You always want to get it done, but you’ve got to do what’s right. we’ll just keep working through it.
  • Chad Graff: Fletcher on Kuemper talks: “We haven’t had a lot of communication lately, but hopefully we’ll start soon and find solutions.”
  • Andy Strickland: Contract talks continue between the Blues and RFA Jaden Schwartz, but there is nothing substantial to report.
  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Contract talks with the Blues and Schwartz continue, but it’s not looking like he’ll be at camp today. Both sides have agreed to continue to work on a short-term deal. It’s thought that Schwartz is looking for as much as $3 million, with Blues wanting to go closer to $2 million. Schwartz was not arbitration eligible and can not receive an offer sheet.
  • Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Stars GM Jim Nill said that the lines of dialogue remain open with RFAs Cody Eakin and Brenden Dillon, but there hasn’t been any recent progress on new deals. Jarrett Bousquet is the agent for both players.

“We have an open line of communication and everyone wants to do what’s best for the players,” said Bousquet. “It’s time to start playing hockey, and I know the players want to be out there.”

Though there has been some talk regarding long-term deal, a bridge contract is more likely.

  • Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Source saying nothing new to report on a contract between Torey Krug and the Bruins. He’ll miss the start of camp today. He was initially looking for a three-year, $10 million deal. Krug is thought to have come down in his asking price. It is thought that they are $750,000 apart on a one- or two-year deal that could be in the $2 million a year range, similar to Danny DeKeyser’s two-year, $4.4 million deal he signed on Monday.
