** Different sites can use different criteria for determining who is still a prospect. Also, for Dobber Prospect lists they take a fantasy hockey approach – prospects whose current trajectory projects them making the most positive fantasy impact at the time that they reach the NHL.

Carter Yakemchuk – Selected seventh overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, Yakemchuk combines elite offensive instincts with a physical edge that is rare among modern defensemen. He has continued producing at an exceptional rate in the WHL while showing improvements in his defensive game and decision-making. His heavy shot is NHL-caliber already, particularly on the power play, and he is extremely dangerous jumping into the rush.

Logan Hensler – He is an outstanding athlete who closes gaps quickly, defends rushes effectively, and transitions the puck smoothly out of his own zone. Unlike Yakemchuk, his game is not driven by offensive creativity, although he possesses enough puck-moving ability to contribute offensively when opportunities arise. What impresses scouts most is his composure under pressure and his ability to play difficult defensive minutes against top competition.

Stephen Halliday – Halliday is a big, intelligent center who excels as a playmaker. His vision and passing ability are his greatest strengths, allowing him to create offense through patience and anticipation rather than pure speed. While his skating remains an area that requires continued improvement, his hockey sense consistently helps him stay one step ahead of opponents.

Jorian Donovan – Acquired from Vegas in the Evgenii Dadonov trade, Donovan has steadily refined his game while showcasing strong skating ability and defensive awareness. His mobility allows him to defend effectively in transition, and he consistently moves the puck well out of his own zone. While he may not possess the offensive ceiling of Yakemchuk, he has shown enough puck-moving skill to contribute offensively when needed.

Owen Beckner – The towering defenseman immediately attracts attention because of his size and reach, which make him difficult to play against defensively. Beckner uses his frame effectively to close passing lanes, separate opponents from the puck, and protect the front of the net. His skating has improved considerably over the last couple of seasons, which has strengthened his NHL projection.
