Nicholas Goss: Whoever the Bruins call up from the AHL won’t be much help, and it isn’t ideal for the Bruins to ask Adam McQuaid and Dennis Seidenberg to play big minutes after the injuries they had last year.

- Adrian Dater: Avalanche’s Semyon Varlamov said he feels good enough to start tonight against the Canucks.
- Ken Wiebe: Jets coach Paul Maurice said that Anthony Peluso missed practice yesterday with a minor upper-body injury.
