- Tom Gulitti of the Record: Devils lost Steve Bernier to a left leg injury that is “fairly serious” according to Lou Lamoriello.
“It’s not good, though, I can tell you that,” Lamoriello said. “When you see somebody go down like that and stay, especially when you know the player, he’s a player who doesn’t stay down when he gets hit. Unfortunately, I think it’s fairly serious.”
- Jason Mackey of the Tribune-Review: Penguins defenseman Paul Martin is hoping to play either Friday or Saturday.
“I think I can (play), but I’m pretty sure I’m not playing (Wednesday),” Martin said. “I’d like to play by the weekend. Looking ahead, we don’t play until (next) Wednesday. It feels better every day. As it continues to get better and feel better on the ice, I think it’s going to be short; not too long.”
