- Arpon Basu of NHL.com: Senators GM Bryan Murray already knows he won’t be thrilled with the return he gets for one of his goalies.
“It’s not going to be a satisfactory deal, there’s no question,” Murray said following the general managers’ meeting Tuesday. “I’m not going to get what I think I should get.”
One of the reasons Robin Lehner is getting more interest than Craig Anderson is because of his contract – $2.225 million for two years over $4.2 million over two years.
“A team on the rise would much prefer a young guy to grow with the team is the indication I get,” Murray said.

Teams are thinking that is still too high.
“There’s lots of talk. If there’s going to be a trade before the draft it’ll probably be draft day or thereabouts,” Murray said. “And, if not, we’ll play the scenario out as long as it takes.”
One league executive thinks Cam Talbot will be the first goalie to move. The Flames have shown a mild interest in Lehner and a more serious interest in Talbot.

- Darren Dreger: The Rangers continue to go over multiple offers for goaltender Cam Talbot. Talbot remaining with the Rangers is still an option, but with the strong trade interest in him, it makes it unlikely. Don’t expect a Talbot trade until Glen Sather arrives in Florida and meets with his management staff to talk about their options.
- Aaron Ward: The Canucks have multiple offers for goaltender Eddie Lack. Hearing that the Sabres are among the most interested teams. Jeff Paterson: The Sabres have two second round picks. The Canucks would love to the Sabres 31st overall pick, but may have to settle on the Sabres 51st overall pick.
- Darren Dreger: There is some contract uncertainty that is fueling the Kings interest in trading Martin Jones. He feels that he is ready to be a number one goalie. Jones remains a prime goalie target. The Kings would prefer to trade Jones to the Eastern Conference.
- Jim Matheson: The Oilers should look at Martin Jones. The Kings think that Jones has more tools than Jonathan Bernier had because he is bigger.
