On the San Jose Sharks …
Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Sharks forward Tomas Hertl is out indefinitely with a sprained right knee. Sharks GM Doug Wilson:
“Hertl will undergo a minor procedure tomorrow under the direction of the Kaiser Permanente medical team. Following the procedure, Hertl will proceed with his rehabilitation schedule in San Jose.
“No timetable has been set for his return to game action.”
On the St. Louis Blues …
Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: The Blues are on a two-game road trip and Alex Steen will miss their first game tonight. He’s possible for Wednesday. Steen has been day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
“He’s better and better but we opted not to skate him today,” Hitchcock said Monday. “We’re not going to take him on the road trip and if he feels better, he can join us. But right now, we’re going to start and play in Boston without him and then we’ll see.”
Defenseman Joel Edmundson is travelling with the team, but is not ready just yet. He’s missed the past six games with an upper-body injury.
“We’re going to continue to work with him, but he’s definitely not ready to play in either one of these games,” Hitchcock said.
On the Dallas Stars …
Mike Heika: Coach Lindy Ruff said that defenseman Johnny Oduya had been playing through a lower-body injury. They are hopeful that he will only miss a few games.
On the Vancouver Canucks …
TSN Radio Vancouver: The Canucks will likely put Derek Dorsett on the IR with a shoulder injury.

Adam Vingan: Predators defenseman Roman Josi said that he was pulled from the game by a concussion spotter. Josi said he’s fine.
