Philadelphia Flyers: GM Ron Hextall said that Radko Gudas missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury and is day-to-day.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: Coach Claude Julien didn’t have much of an updated on David Backes and his upper-body injury. His ‘tone’ didn’t seem that encouraging.

On the Florida Panthers …

George Richards: The Panthers put Aleksander Barkov on the IR and Reilly Smith (concussion) will be activated from from the IR.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Paul Hamilton: Both William Carrier and Dmitry Kulikov are out tonight. Carrier’s hand is not broken.

On the New Jersey Devils …

Andrew Gross of The Record: Taylor Hall missed Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury and didn’t practice yesterday. He’s listed as day-to-day.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Forward Brayden Point will be out four to six weeks with an upper-body injury

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Ken Wiebe: The Jets put Marko Dano on the IR with a lower-body injury and recalled Andrew Copp.

On the Calgary Flames …

Pat Steinberg: Coach Glen Gulutzan indicated yesterday that defenseman Dougie Hamilton should be able to return today. He missed Thursday’s game with the flu.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Coach Lindy Ruff on Patrick Sharp and Antoine Roussel.

“Sharp is cleared to go and indicated that he’s up and ready to play. So for me, an opportunity to get him in there tomorrow. He (Roussel) is not quite there yet. Today was sort of an 80 percent day at practice for him, but he’s moving closer to that date.”

Mark Stepneski: Ruff on goaltender Kari Lehtonen: “He’s 100 percent.”

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic is unlikely to play today after taking a slap shot just under the visor late in last night’s game.

“As bad as it looked and as bad as it probably is, I’ve got my fingers crossed. The initial reports are that I don’t believe it’s that serious, so that’s good,” he said.
