On the Ottawa Senators …
Mike Morreale of NHL.com: Senators 22-year old forward Curtis Lazar knows his name has been in the rumor mill. Senators GM Pierre Dorion has said he’s looking to add more offensive depth before the deadline.
The Ottawa Sun reported that Lazar’s agent, J.P. Barry has scheduled a meeting with GM Dorion for Saturday.
” wants to try and find a solution that will help me out; it’s nothing against Ottawa or the Senators because I love playing here,” Lazar said Thursday. “My main focus lately has been how to get back into the lineup. I haven’t thought about anything else; you people make with it what you want but, for myself, it’s one day at a time.
“I haven’t talked to in quite some time, so just to sit down with him and not only talk about the current situation, but just about myself and what it will take for me to succeed, will be good. The bottom line is I’m an Ottawa Senator and want to be an Ottawa Senator.”
Dorion wants to upgrade, but owner Eugene Melnyk doesn’t want to mortgage the future. He may not want top prospects Thomas Chabot or Colin White traded.
