On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith: Coach Jon Cooper said that the best case scenario would have Tyler Johnson back in the lineup on Thursday, but not sure if it will happen. Cooper on Vladislav Namestnikov re-aggravating his injury, “It’s too bad.”

Joe Smith: Cooper on a Steven Stamkos return: “He’s the core of our franchise. Until doctors and Steven Stamkos says I’m ready to go, he’s not going on the ice.”

On the New York Islanders …

New York Islanders: Forward Brock Nelson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Laura Albanese: Coach Doug Weight said that Casey Cizikas will need a few more days before returning to the lineup.

On the Boston Bruins …

Steve Conroy: Coach Bruce Cassidy is cautiously optimistic that forward Ryan Spooner will be in the lineup tonight.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch: Defenseman Mark Borowiecki has a lower-body injury and there is no-timetable for his return.

On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir: Forward Andre Burakovsky (broken hand) is hopeful that he can return to the lineup next week but they won’t rush it.

Katie Brown: Burakovsky said he’s feeling better but he still has some limitations and that shooting and stickhandling are getting easier.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Curtis Zupke: Coach Randy Carlyle said that he doesn’t think it will take goaltender John Gibson long to return once he gets back on the ice and is comfortable.

Eric Stephens: CCarlyle said there is no timeline for Gibson.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Forward Dmitrij Jaskin will miss tonight’s game with an upper-body injury. Jaskin collided with Robert Bortuzzo in Monday’s game.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun Times: Forward Artem Anisimov had to be helped off the ice by teammates at the end of the first period last night. Anisimov had his left leg pinned after he and Alexander Radulov fell awkwardly into the boards. Coach Joel Quenneville said after the game that Anisimov’s injury is only day-to-day and is not that serious.

“Yeah, it didn’t look great,” Quenneville said after the Hawks’ 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. “Sometimes you never know.”
