Rask holds a modified no-trade clause and may not be interested in going anywhere

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston: (maibag) Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask has a no-clause so he could choose to not to waive it for a team like the Edmonton Oilers. At some point in time the Oilers could look to move out the salaries of Rask or David Krejci. Both players like it in Boston and have young families, so they may not be interested in moving any time soon.

Rask’s modified no-trade clause allows him to be traded to eight teams with the number rising to 15 next season.

Alex Khokhlachev isn’t lighting up the KHL and may not be worth the effort for the Bruins to bring him back over.

The Bruins are at least one top-six forward short at the moment and maybe a couple top-nine guys. Maybe one of their young guys will eventually run with the opportunity.

They could use a tough winger that can score goals – someone like a Wayne Simmonds.

Bruins could move a young, cheaper forward for a veteran centerman

Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Darren Dreger was on TSN 1050 and was talking the Boston Bruins and that they are looking at what centermen could be available.

Dreger notes that they have some good young players, but they are “kind of similar to one another” and may be willing to move one if they can acquire a veteran forward.

“So they want to add to the experience that they already have. Maybe, maybe there’s a fit, maybe there’s a piece in Los Angeles that makes sense to Boston, and L.A. gets a cheaper, younger player, as an example. And I use L.A. just for sake of discussion here. I’m not suggesting that there’s any trade dialogue happening between those clubs.”
