Ferland expects to play

Eric Francis: Carolina Hurricanes Micheal Ferland missed Sunday’s game with a back issue. He said he felt better yesterday and expects to play today.

Kind of an update on Crawford’s status

Jimmy Greenfield: Chicago Blackhawks forward Brendan Perlini is still out with a concussion.

Charlie Roumeliotis: Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton updating goaltender Corey Crawford‘s status.

“Him going on the ice, I said it two days ago, not to read too much into it. It’s going to be a process here. The day-to-day, it doesn’t really matter. It’s over time. Is he feeling better? Is he progressing? I’m not in his ear, ‘How are you feeling?’, asking , ‘How’s Crow feeling?’ It doesn’t help me, it doesn’t help him and minute-to-minute, it doesn’t matter. It’s over time, how does he feel, is he getting better? Did I talk to him today? Yeah I talked to him today. But I didn’t ask him how he was feeling. Because day to day, it’s a non-issue. I just want him to be happy and over time, feel better. And then we’ll see if he can play at the of that”

Johnson to return after the break

Adrian Dater: Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson should be able to return after the All-Star break.

Klefbom to return after the break

Jack Michaels: Edmonton Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock said that defenseman Oscar Klefbom should be ready to return to the lineup after the break.

White to return after the break

Brent Wallace: Ottawa Senators forward Colin White (shoulder) said that he should be ready to return on February 1st against the Penguins.

Karlsson to return after the break

Paul Gackle: San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said that they are shutting defenseman Erik Karlsson down until after the All-Star break.

Babcock updates Ennis’ status

Terry Koshan: It’s been one month since Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tyler Ennis. Babcock on how Ennis is recovering: “I don’t know. He’s a good guy. He has something to say every day, so that’s good. He’s full of piss and vinegar, to say the least. He’s in a good mood, he is in here every day, he is working hard.”
