Rangers in the lead for Karlsson?
James (@Account4hockey): Chris Johnston said on Sportsnet 960 that the New York Rangers are the frontrunners to land Erik Karlsson in free agency, with the Tampa Bay Lightning second.
The Lightning would need to clear out space and still need to re-sign Brayden Point. Karlsson would take a discount because of the taxes and to play with his good friend Victor Hedman.
Bednar to get a small extension
Adrian Dater: The Colorado Avalanche are close to signing head coach Jared Bednar to a one-year contract extension. His deal would run through 2020-21.
Telegin eyeing an NHL return
Igor Eronko: Ivan Telegin is looking to the return to the NHL next season. He was drafted by the Jets.
Cap Friendly: The Winnipeg Jets still hold his rights, but since he turned 27-years old back in February, he will come off their Reserve List on June 30th. He will become an unrestricted free agent.
