Mike Harrington: Buffalo Sabres forward Alex Tuch was back on the ice after being out with an illness.

Ansar Khan: Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin is progressing but hasn’t been cleared for contact yet.

Larkin seems to be moving well following his lower-body injury almost two weeks ago. It’s an optional skate. Gibson not on the ice so he’s starting as expected. Copp and MBN continue to practice. Rasmussen remains out. pic.twitter.com/yEgMEjwD8c

Dave Hogg: Red Wings forward Mason Appleton left last night’s game in the second period after landing awkwardly on the ice after being hit into the boards. There was no update after the game.

Jason Gregor: Edmonton Oilers defenseman Ty Emberson is a possibility to return to the lineup this weekend, according to coach Kris Knoblauch.

Gerry Moddejonge: Edmonton Oilers forward Trent Frederic left last night’s game in the second period. There was no update after the game.

Jessi Pierce: Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury and is listed as day-to-day. Forward Bobby Brink returned after missing four games with an upper-body injury.

Priyanta Emrith: Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

Robby Stanley: Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury and is day-to-day.

Andrew Gross: New York Islanders forward Max Shabanov (lower-body) took part in their morning skate yesterday.

Mollie Walker: New York Rangers forward Noah Laba and defenseman Urho Vaakanainen didn’t travel with the team.

Sheng Peng: San Jose Sharks forward Ty Dellandrea was on the ice in a no-contact jersey.

Curtis Pashelka: Sharks goaltender Yaroslav Askarov and forward Igor Chernyshov didn’t practice and remain day-to-day.

    • Sheng Peng: Askarov and Chernyshov were on the ice, skating on their own. There were no updates on their timelines. Dellandrea remains week-to-week.

Max Miller: Sharks forward Tyler Toffoli left last night’s game in the first period with an undisclosed injury. There was no update after the game.

Robby Stanley: Seattle Kraken forward Ryan Winterton missed last night’s game due to illness.

TSN: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews had surgery to repair his MCL and is expected to be out for three months.

Mike McIntyre: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk will practice in a full-contact jersey today and could return to the lineup this weekend.

Brendan Batchelor: Vancouver Canucks defenseman P.O. Joseph practiced in a regular jersey.
