The injuries keep mounting for the Panthers. Sidney Crosby leaves favoring his leg. Sens lose Thomas Chabot for four to eight weeks.

Laurence Heinen: Anaheim Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas left last night’s game in the second period with a lower-body injury. Coach Joel Quenneville said after the game that they think he’s okay and that he’ll get checked out today.

Forward Jansen Harkins missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury he suffered on Tuesday. Forward Troy Terry was a late scratch due to a lower-body injury.

Matthew Fairburn: Buffalo Sabres forward Noah Ostlund didn’t practice yesterday due to an upper-body injury. He was being evaluated yesterday, and they should have a better idea today.

Adam Kimelman: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Louis Crevier left last night’s game in the third period after getting cut on the face by a skate.

Alex Ovechkin’s 1,000 Goals: Will Anyone Ever Get Close?

Ken Wiebe: Colorado Avalanche forward Artturi Lehkonen returned to the lineup last night. Forward Nic Roy missed last night’s game.

Ansar Khan: Detroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot “tweaked something,” according to coach Todd McLellan. They don’t think it’s serious, but he’s not expected to back up tonight.

Jameson Olive: Florida Panthers forward Mackie Samoskevich wasn’t able to return last night, but he is getting closer. Forward Cole Schwindt is skating and could be ready after their back-to-backs in New York.

No final results were given on forwards Sam Reinhart and Brad Marchand.

NHL: Panthers forward Anton Lundell will be out for two to six weeks and is done for the season.

David Dwork: Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues is done for the season as he’ll be out for four to six weeks with a broken finger.

NHL: Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno returned to the lineup after missing the past 12 games with a lower-body injury.

Joe Smith: Wild coach Jon Hynes said that defenseman Jared Spurgeon got some stitches and should be fine.

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Arseny Gritsyuk missed their morning skate yesterday after getting injured late in their last game.

Stefen Rosner: New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock took part in their morning skate yesterday, but defenseman Tony DeAngelo wasn’t on the ice.

Andrew Gross: Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov took part in their morning skate in a no-contact jersey.

  • Andrew Gross: Islanders coach Patrick Roy said that there is no timetable for Romanov to return, but it won’t be before the start of the playoffs.

The Columbus Blue Jackets Are Not Worried About Rick A Bowness Extension

Philadelphia Flyers: Forward Nikita Grebenkin will be out for seven to 10 days with an upper-body injury. He’ll be re-evaluated after that.

Claire Hanna: Injured Ottawa Senators:

Jake Sanderson (upper body) – day to day beyond Friday
Thomas Chabot (right arm surgery) – 4-8 weeks
Dennis Gilbert (upper body) – 3 weeks
Lassi Thomson (lower body) – a bit more than day-to-day

  • Julian McKenzie: Sanderson is skating and will be with them on their road trip. Chabot had surgery yesterday. Thomson skated yesterday, but will be out a while.

Pens Inside Scoop: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby left last night’s game early. Coach Dan Muse:

“Still got to get some updates. I got to talk to the medical staff some more. It’s lower body, but I don’t have any other updates for you now.”

Josh Yohe of The Athletic: Late in the first period Crosby headed to the dressing and didn’t come back out for the second. It appeared that he was favoring his right leg. It was his fifth game back since he suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee during the Olympics.

Josh Getzoff: Penguins forward Anthony Mantha was able to last night after he missed Wednesday’s practice.

Vancouver Canucks Questions, and the Top 12 Unrestricted NHL Free Agents

Sheng Peng: Sharks Yaroslav Askarov (upper-body) and defenseman John Klingberg (lower-body) will travel with the team to Columbus. No other updates.

Andy Strickland: St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas (upper-body) missed last night’s game.

NHL: Utah Mammoth forward Barrett Hayton is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Ken Wiebe: Winnipeg Jets forward Morgan Barron is in concussion protocol after a heavy punch from Josh Manson.
