Six free agent targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun: The Toronto Maple Leafs will have just over $22 million to work with this offseason, and that is with 20 players under contract. The UFA market isn’t what everyone had hoped it would be, and there will be competition as many clubs have money to work with. A list of players who could interest the Leafs.
Darren Raddysh – Tampa Bay Lightning – RHD – A late-blooming 30-year-old from Toronto. He could be in the $7 million range.
Alex Tuch – Buffalo Sabres – RW – A top-six winger who will be looking for $10-$11 million.
Rasmus Andersson – Vegas Golden Knights – RHD – Former Leafs GM Brad Treliving tried to acquire him several times. Will be looking for a raise. Paying him may be easier if they traded Morgan Rielly and his $7.5 million cap hit.
Jack Roslovic – Edmonton Oilers – C/W – Can play multiple forward positions and move up and down the lineup. Put up 22 goals in 69 games and will be looking for a raise from his $1.5 million
Jacob Trouba – Anaheim Ducks – RHD – The 32-year-old logged almost 23 minutes a game. Put up 35 points while blocking 149 shots and throwing 143 hits.
Connor Murphy – Edmonton Oilers – RHD – The 33-year-old was linked to the Leafs prior to the trade deadline. Doesn’t bring offence, but he’d be a third-pairing upgrade over Simon Benoit, Philippe Myers, and Troy Stecher.
Five GM Candidates for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun: Five GM candidates who keep coming up in the Toronto Maple Leafs search. They’d like to get it done by the end of April, possibly this week, despite Keith Pelley saying the rough target is late May.
Mike Gillis – GM of the Canuacks from 2008 to 2014, and hasn’t been with any team since then.
Ryan Martin – Rangers assistant GM and AHL Hartford GM. Has interviewed with the Predators.
John Chayka – Former Arizona Coyotes GM, who listened to offers while under contract with the Coyotes, unauthorized testing of potential draft picks.
Scott White – Dallas Stars director of hockey operations. AHL Texas GM. Interest from the Canucks and Predators.
Evan Gold – Boston Bruins assistant GM.

Other Maple Leafs hockey department candidates
Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun: Ryan Martin, Scott White and Evan Gold only have assistant GM experience, so if the Toronto Maple Leafs were to hire any of them, would they also be looking to hire a director of hockey operations?
Keith Pelley could make a decision this week or next. Mike Gillis may not be in the GM talk, but possibly for more of a supervisory position. Mats Sundin could be in an advisory role. Darren Dreger has mentioned Gary Roberts as a potential consultant.
