It’s not looking like Connor Hellebuyck will show up for training camp
TSN: It’s looking like Connor Hellebuyck isn’t going to report to the start of the Winnipeg Jets training camp, according to Darren Dreger.
“If that is the case, that forces the Jets to respond. That response will likely come Wednesday or Thursday.
I think it’s important to note that there will be no immediate financial punishment. Obviously, NHL players don’t start getting paid until the start of the regular season.”
After the draft in June, trade interest in Hellebuyck has been minimal. The Buffalo Sabres were trying to acquire him before the draft, but there hasn’t been much activity since.
“Certainly nothing that would qualify as a package that general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff and the Jets could work with in fair value in return for an elite-level goaltender in Hellebuyck with years remaining on his contract.”

Murat Ates: The Winnipeg Jets have released their training camp roster yesterday and obviously Connor Hellebuyck’s name is on it. Don’t believe anyone expects him to be there.

Believe that Alexei Yashin in 1999 was the last player to do so.
