Eastern Conference Injuries: Caps, Sens, Leafs, Rangers, Pens, Habs and Islanders
John Carlson of the Washington Capitals
On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid Atlantic: Defenseman John Carlson didn’t practice yesterday and he is doubtful for tonight’s game against the Blues. Carlson missed Monday’s game with a lower-body injury.

Coach Barry Trotz said that Carlson is progressing and that he could take part in their morning skate today. The Capitals also play on Saturday in Dallas.

“He did some therapy stuff today,” Trotz said. “He got worked on and all that the good stuff. We’ll make sure he’s healthy before we put him back in.”

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: Coach Guy Bouchar didn’t give out a lot of info regarding Clarke MacArthur, and his attempt to come back from post-concussion syndrome.

“Pierre and I talked and he said, ‘All these things I’ll have all the information and you focus on the games right now.’ The questions for MacArthur are really for (Dorion) right now, Boucher said at Nationwide Arena. “I haven’t tried to be in the loop on the specifics right now.”

MacArthur went through baseline testing on Friday.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Darren Dreger: Defenseman Morgan Rielly is believed to have an ankle injury. The severity is not known yet, and he’s listed as day-to-day.

On the New York Rangers …

New York Rangers: Coach Alain Vigneault said that forward Kevin Hayes will play against the Maple Leafs. Forward Jesper Fast is not expected to return from his upper-body injury until after the All-Star break.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Renaud Lavoie: Forward David Desharnais was on the ice yesterday, but it wasn’t a full practice.
