NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs, Jets, Canucks, Vrbata and Senators
Valtteri Filppula rejects trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs

On the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning …

Renaud Lavoie: Lightning forward Valtteri Filppula rejected a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of a bigger deal that involved Brian Boyle.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Gary Lawless: Forward Drew Stafford will likely be traded today.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Jas Kang: Canucks GM Jim Benning said he’s not done making trades. Benning had no comment on interest in goaltender Ryan Miller.

Jas Kang: Benning said there were lots of teams interested in Jannik Hansens – upwards of 20. Three of the teams were realistic possibilities.

On the Arizona Coyotes and Radim Vrbata …

Darren Dreger: There are eight teams that are legitimately interested in forward Radim Vrbata. The Coyotes should be able to get a good return with that many teams interested.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Jim Matheson: The Oilers will look at adding a backup goalie for Cam Talbot. Jaroslav Halak, Anders Nilsson or Michal Neuvirth are options. Halak is the front-runner.

Ryan Rishaug: Think it would be a mistake to trade Jordan Eberle before the playoffs. He should be rejuvenated and his game has been improving.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: It could be a quiet trade deadline day for the Ottawa Senators

“Don’t be surprised if nothing else done between now and tomorrow at 3 p.m.,” Dorion said Tuesday. “I’m going to try until 2:59 p.m. tomorrow, but don’t be surprised if nothing else happens.”

The Senators are looking to move Curtis Lazar for a first round pick. They’ve had an a second round pick offer. Lazar seems to be okay with the idea be being traded. He could be exposed in the expansion draft if they don’t move him. Lazar could have trouble getting back in the lineup after the Senators trade acquisitions and when Bobby Ryan is ready to return.
