  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post DispatchPatrik Berglund skated for an hour on Wednesday and over an hour yesterday. He had offseason shoulder surgery and isn’t scheduled to return until January.

    “He looks really good,” Hitchcock said. “I’m no medical doctor, but he looks good. He’s skating hard, he’s shooting pucks. It’s a good sign. He’s got a ways to go yet, but it’s nice to see him back on the ice and able to participate with some of the guys on these skates.”

  • Blues Robby Fabbri and Kevin Shattenkirk could return to the lineup tomorrow.

  • Joe Haggerty: Bruins Matt Beleskey missed practice again yesterday with an upper-body injury, but did travel with the team and could be a possibility against the Islanders.

  • Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Sharks Joe Thornton left last night’s game in the first period with what looked like a head injury. He had trouble standing up, falling over twice. He did return in the second. Coach Pete DeBoer said that he went through concussion protocol and was cleared.
