  • Dave Goucher: Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said that they expect Zdeno Chara to return in the next 10 to 14 days.
  • Bryan Burns of Lightning.NHL: Victor Hedman is not ‘day-to-day’ just yet, “half  a fortnight” according to coach Jon Cooper. Initial estimates were four to six weeks. Six weeks would be this Saturday. Hedman is making steady progress.

    “I think I was a mid-December guy, now I’m moving to an early-December guy,” Cooper said, referring to when he felt Hedman would return.

  • Steve Conroy: Bruins David Krejci has a groin pull according to a source.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Pavel Datsyuk groin injury is feeling better, but he needs more practice time. He’s hoping to return later this week.
  • Chris Kuc: Blackhawks Andrew Shaw appears to be ready to return from his upper-body injury. Phillip Danault has been returned to the AHL.
  • Stephen Lorenzo: Islanders Calvin de Haan and Thomas Hickey missed last night’s game due to an illness.
  • Elliott Pap: Canucks Alex Burrows (upper-body) practiced yesterday. He’ll take the morning skate today and will see if he can go tonight against the Devils.
  • Adrian Dater: Avs Alex Tanguay was been cleared by doctors and will be in the lineup tonight.
  • Paul Hendrick: Maple Leafs Roman Polak will be out for four weeks with a knee strain.
  • Darren Dreger: Maple Leafs David Booth will return on Wednesday. Joffrey Lupul could be ready, awaiting clearance.
  • John Vogl: Sabres Cody McCormick is undergoing concussion protocol.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Mike Green is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
