Injuries: Canadiens, Lightning, Stars, Sharks, Flyers and Oilers

On the Canadiens …

  • Dan Rosen of NHL.com: Carey Price left last night’s game after the second period.

“The medical staff was really comfortable and Carey was really comfortable to come back,” Therrien said. “If we would have had any doubt, for sure we were never going to take that risk. That’s all we could say about it. He tweaked it again tonight and that’s why we don’t want to take any chances. It’s still early in the season, so it’s important for us that when he plays he’s got to make sure he’s healthy.”

Coach Michel Therrien doesn’t know how long Price will be out.

  • Dan Rosen: Price has the same injury as last time. He previously missed nine games with a lower-body injury.
  • Dan Rosen: Price wasn’t scheduled to start on Friday. His status is not known yet, but the Habs won’t rush him back.

On the Lightning …

  • Bryan Burns: Coach Jon Cooper on a timetable for Ondrej Palat’s return:  “He’s still a ways away.”

On the Stars …

  • Mark Stepneski: Coach Lindy Ruff expects Kari Lehtonen to be back on the ice in a couple days.

On the Sharks …

  • Mark Lazerus: Ben Smith was been out for weeks with a concussion. He’s skating again.
  • Mark Lazerus: Smith: “You’d love to go out there & play with a sprained ankle or a broken arm or whatever, but you can’t battle through a concussion.”
  • Curtis Pashelka: Coach Pete DeBoer said that Justin Braun is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

On the Flyers …

  • Tim Panaccio: Ryan White doesn’t think he’ll be playing this week. He still has some shoulder pain.

On the Oilers …
