  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Brooks Laich is a possibility for Saturday. If he doesn’t skate today, he may not be ready for tomorrow.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars Valeri Nichushkin is close to returning to the lineup. Dallas Stars: Nichushkin was activated from the IR and sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Mark Fistric (upper-body) left last night’s game and is questionable for tonight.
  • Chris Johnston: Blue Jackets Boone Jenner is expected to make his season debut next week.
  • Paul Hendrick: Maple Leafs David Booth skated on his own for the first time since suffering a broken foot. Could be three weeks away.
  • Joe Smith: Lightning’s Ryan Callahan didn’t skate yesterday, but still hopes to return tomorrow.
  • Edmonton Oilers: Viktor Fasth has been clear to play. Luke Gazdic has been sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment today.
  • Michael Russo of the Star Tribune: Wild’s Jared Spurgeon was injured in the third after crashing into the boards after being hit by Joe Pavelski. An update should happen today.
