  • Joanne Ireland of the Edmonton Journal: MRI showed that Oilers Taylor Hall has a cracked bone in his lower leg and will be out up to six weeks. Hall was hit with a shot in his lower leg during a practice on January 26th, but this injury was from from a slash from the game against the Sharks.

“He came back in San Jose and during that game he took a slash and it was in the same area — and it didn’t respond the way we wanted it too which is why we got the MRI,” said Nelson.

  • Dave Isaac of the Courier Post: Flyers Steve Mason will be out for two to three weeks with a right knee injury.
  • Edmonton Oilers: Coach Nelson on Ben Scrivens: “Late in the game he tweaked his hamstring. He’s out for a bit and we have Richard Bachman on the way up.”
  • Edmonton Oilers: Coach Nelson on Benoit Pouliot who is day-to-day with a foot injury: “We’re hopeful when we get to Montreal he’s further along and could play.”
  • Andrew Gross: The Rangers put Henrik Lundqvist on the IR.
  • Anaheim Ducks: Frederik Andersen was put on the IR.
  • Chad Graff: The Wild put Jason Zucker and Ryan Carter on the IR with upper-body injuries.
  • Terrell Williams of Hurricanes.NHL: The Hurricanes have put Ryan Murphy on the IR. Murphy injured his leg last Thursday and is expected to be out for four weeks. Surgery is not required.
  • Sarah Baicker: Flyers Kimmo Timonen is targeting next Tuesday’s morning skate as his first full practice. He’s targeting the end of the month to return to their lineup.
  • Bob Rotruck: Flyers AHL goalie Rob Zepp practiced yesterday after he was injured on Saturday. If he is okay, the Flyers could switch him with Anthony Stolarz later this week.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Damon Severson (fractured left ankle) had an x-ray on Monday and has been cleared to start skating again.
  • Josh Yohe: With Mark Arcobello going waivers, could be an indication that Blake Comeau could be ready to return tonight.
  • Jeremy Rutherford: Blues Ryan Reaves had a root canal on Monday.
