  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Tom Wilson passed concussion protocols last night. He didn’t return to the game as a precaution.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Johan Franzen missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
  • Sam Carchidi: Flyers Steve Mason had an MRI yesterday, and said whenever one is needed, there is “concern.” Philadelphia Flyers: GM Ron Hextall said that Mason will take part in their morning skate today.
  • Michael Russo: Wild’s Marco Scandella is out tonight with an upper-body injury. Darcy Kuemper has a minor injury.
  • Jim Jamieson: Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said he thinks that Radim Vrbata and Brad Richardson will be able to play tonight.
  • Wes Gilbertson: Flames activated Mikael Backlund and Ladislav Smid from the IR and assigned Markus Granlund and Corey Potter to the AHL.
