Injuries: Jets, Hawks, Hurricanes, Panthers, Isles, Preds and Pens
  • Paul Friesen: Jets Zach Bogosian is out four to six weeks and has been put on the IR. Tobias Enstrom is out three weeks. Grant Clitsome is out two weeks.
  • Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago: Blackhawks Patrick Sharp has been out since Nov. 4th with a lower-body injury, but is expected to return next week.

“We’re going to count him out for ,” Quenneville said after practice on Thursday. “Likely, probably next week on the trip.

“We want him to be more than ready. I think whether it’s more contact or he’s comfortable in all areas where he feels that strength underneath him. The pushing and the shoving in the tight areas is what we’re looking at. And we have time, so let’s make sure, like I said, he’s more than ready.”

  • Chip Alexander: Hurricanes Andrej Sekerac is “real close” but not 100 percent according to coach Bill Peters. Hopes to be ready to go for the Red Wing game.
  • George Richards: Panthers David Bolland is close to returning. Scottie Upshall (ankle) will start skating today.
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Lubomir Visnovsky skated on his own yesterday. Johnny Boychuk hasn’t started skating yet. There was no update on Travis Hamonic.
  • Rich Chere: The Devils put Martin Havlat on the IR retroactive to Nov. 29th.
  • K Wilson: Predators Paul Gaustad missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
  • Penguins Patric Hornqvist left last night’s game after a helmet-to-helmet hit.
