Injuries: Lehtonen, Jenner, Giroux, Alfredsson, Franson and More
  •  Mark Stepneski of Stars Inside Edge: Stars coach Lindy Ruff said that Kari Lehtonen has a concussion with “mild symptoms” and could miss a couple days.

    “It’s a concussion. I am not going to hide from that,” Ruff said. “It is very mild symptoms. If he feels better tomorrow, you still have to give him a day of rest.”

  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Blue Jackets winger Boone Jenner broke his hand on Sunday after being hit by a puck. He’ll have more test done today to determine the severity of it. He’s expected to be out at least a month.
  • Tim Panaccio: Flyers Claude Giroux has been out for basically the entire training camp with a lower-body injury. There is a “possibility” that he plays tonight in an exhibition game against the Rangers. He is thought to have a either a groin/abdominal/hip flexor injury.
  • Sheri Forde: Daniel Alfredsson was on the ice yesterday. He said that he’ll skate hard all this week and he could decide his future next week.
  • Mark Masters: Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle on Cody Franson “Severe enough injury that it will keep him off the ice for a couple of days”
  • Ben Kuzma: Canucks Frank Corrado left last nights game in the second period with an upper-body injury after taking a hit. Coach Willie Desjardins:  “He’s out for a bit. I don’t think it’s bad, but it will be evaluated tomorrow and we’ll know more.”
  • Ted Kulfan: Red Wings defenseman Aaron Rome left last nights game with a lower-body injury.
  • Rich Chere: Devils Ryane Clowe plans to get into the last two preseason games.
  • Tracey Myers: Blackhawks Marian Hossa missed yesterday with a lower-body injury. Coach Joel Quenneville said it’s not serious and that he should skate today.
