Injuries: Lightning, Jets, Rangers, Caps, Coyotes, Blues and more
  • Michelle Gingras: Lightning’s Braydon Coburn will be out four- to six-weeks with a lower-body injury. Ondrej Palat is out two- to three-weeks with a lower-body injury. Cedric Paquette will be out 10-14 days with an upper-body injury.
  • Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press: Jets Tyler Myers crashed into the boards in the second period. He left and tried to return to start the third. He took a quick twirl and left. The Jets said he has an upper-body injury.
  • Pat Leonard of the NY Daily News: The Rangers have lost defenseman Kevin Klein for three- to four-weeks after injuring his left arm. Their cap situation may keep them for immediately calling up an extra defenseman.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals injury update according to coach Barry Trotz: Mike Green – day-to-day, but he’s possible for tonight. Michael Latta is questionable for tonight. Jay Beagle is doubtful for tonight, but won’t be out for long. Brooks Orpik could skate today on his own. Obviously isn’t playing.
  • Mike Vogel: The Capitals are getting close on a decision to send Dmitri Orlov to the AHL on a conditional stint or not.
  • Aaron Portzline: The Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Ryan Murray off the IR. Coach Todd Richards indicated he’ll return tonight against the Oilers.
  • Craig Morgan: Coyotes coach Dave Tippet said that Oliver Ekman-Larsson didn’t suffer a serious injury and is hopeful that he’ll be able to play on Saturday.
  • Sam Carchidi: Flyers Michael Del Zotto (upper-body) is expected to skate today, but is doubtful for tomorrows game.
  • Lou Korac: Blues Olli Jokinen will either play one of their two games this weekend, or will be back playing full-time starting on Tuesday.
  • Lou Korac: Sense is that once Blues Zbynek Michalek gets into some full-scale practices, he’ll be ready to go. This weekend might be pushing, so next week is more likely.
