Injuries: Lupul, Blues, Pirri, Quincey, Kopitar, Callahan and Cammalleri
  • Chris Johnston: Joffrey Lupul fell at practice on Thursday and broke a bone in his hand. He’s out indefinitely. Mark Masters: Lupul: “Just an awkward fall. I honestly thought nothing of it.”
  • Lou Korac: Blues Paul Stastny and T.J. Oshie won’t be in the lineup today.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Aaron Volpatti (neck) can come of the LTIR on Sunday, but they are still waiting for “that last 10 percent.”
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings coach Mike Babcock had no update on Kyle Quincey’s ankle injury. They don’t know yet if it will be short-term or long-term.
  • Calgary Flames: Flames Michael Ferland left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
  • Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning’s Ryan Callahan said after practice yesterday that he’s ready to return to the lineup today.

“I’m good to go,” Callahan said. “That’s the goal, as long as nothing shows up tomorrow, something that’s bugging me from today’s skate. But I felt really good today so don’t see why not.”

  • Tom Gulitti of The Record: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that forward Mike Cammalleri still doesn’t feel right and is day-to-day after taking an elbow to the jaw last Friday.

“He just doesn’t feel right,” Lamoriello said.

“Whether it’s his head, his neck, his jaw, we’re just making sure he feels 100 percent.”

  • Chris Wescott Oilers: Oilers defenseman Nikita Nikitin has missed the past two games with back spasms will be a game-time decision.

“It will be tomorrow,” Head Coach Dallas Eakins said of when they’ll know if Nikitin is ready to play. “With those backs you never know what’s going to happen. He came in yesterday on a day off, which he is not required to do, on his own and had some of our guys here. He skated yesterday, which was the first positive. He got through practice, which is the second. We’ll see how his bed treats that back tonight and we’ll make the decision tomorrow.”
