  • Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Zbynek Michalek didn’t travel with the team and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
  • Farhan Lalji: Canucks coach Willie Desjardins on Alex Edler“He’s still being evaluated so I don’t have a final update.” Desjardins wouldn’t confirm if he’ll be making the trip.
  • News 1130 Sports: Edler’s agent Mark Stowe was told by the team to not talk about the injury.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars Ales Hemsky is day-to-day and is hopeful for Thursday.
  • Bryan Burns: Lightning defenseman Matt Carle said that his rehab is going well. Yesterday was the first day he’d been out doing drills with teammates. Carle added that he is on pace to return sometime in early March, “If it’s a little bit sooner, that’d be great.”  Joe Smith: If Carle is on pace for a six-week recovery, return would be March 3rd.
  • Lou Korac: Blues Patrik Berglund is fine and expected to play tonight. Alex Steen and Jori Lehtera had a maintenance day yesterday.
  • Amy Moritz: Sabres coach Ted Nolan said that Patrick Kaleta will have surgery and will be out four to six weeks.
  • Mark Masters: Maple Leafs Dion Phaneuf (hand) and Joffrey Lupul (lower-body) skated before practice yesterday.
  • David Pollak: The Sharks activated Marc-Edouard Vlasic off the IR.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said they hope that Sergei Bobrovsky can return “by the end of this month.” He’s been out with a groin injury.
  • Ian Mendes: Both Robin Lehner and Clarke MacArthur left last night’s game. Bruce Garrioch: There was no update on either player after the game.
