Injuries: Sharks, Hedman, St. Louis, Connolly, Miller and More

  • Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Sharks Marc-Edouard Vlasic may miss only one more game with his lower-body injury. Micro Mueller is likely out the remainder of the season with a left hand injury. On Vlasic.

    “We’re hoping that he can play Friday-Saturday, but it’s going to be day-to-day for awhile,” McLellan said.

  • Pierre LeBrun: Lightning’s Victor Hedman is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. They hope he’s able to play next week. Chris Johnston: Coach Jon Cooper said that he’ll be back in the lineup before the playoffs.
  • Andrew Gross: Rangers Martin St. Louis“Tomorrow with a full practice I think it will allow me to be ready to go I think on Thursday.”
  • Wes Crosby: There was no update on Penguins Evgeni Malkin or Christian Ehrhoff.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals coach Barry Trotz on Jay Beagle’s injury: “Is probably a little more serious than we even anticipated, but it’s not really serious.” Beagle will travel with the team to Montreal, Ottawa and Detroit, and will begin to skate. He won’t play. 
  • Michael Smith: Hurricanes Riley Nash has a concussion according to coach Bill Peters. He was hit with the puck around ear on Sunday.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Jonas Gustavsson said he’s closer to getting medically cleared.
  • Mike Chambers: Avs Erik Johnson looked like he was skating with a knee brace yesterday. Mobility was poor.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets Matt Calvert returned after missing 15 games with a concussion/neck injury. He started feeling better a week ago. He will continue to wear the darkened visor as he’s still a little sensitive to bright lights.
