On the Edmonton Oilers …

Bob Stauffer: Defenseman Adam Larsson missed last night’s game.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Curtis Zupke: Goaltender John Gibson missed last night’s game and is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Terry Frei of the Denver Post: Defenseman Erik Johnson took part in a full practice yesterday in a no-contact jersey. His plans are to return to the lineup on Saturday in Buffalo.

“I’m going to get a couple more skates in, and assuming it all goes well, come off the (injured reserve) and play Saturday at home,” he said.

Johnson broke his fibula on Decemer 3rd and was given six to eight week recovery initially, but was later moved to 12 weeks.

“It was kind of right on schedule,” Johnson said. “I got a second opinion that was right in the zone where it was. I had to make sure everything was crystal-clear 100 percent, feeling good.”

Coach Jared Bednar was not as quick to pencil Johnson in for Saturday.

“The target date here if everything keeps going the way it’s been progressing.” He added, “He’s been out a significant length of time, so he’ll probably get eased into that a little bit.”
