Injuries: Canadiens, Rangers, Ducks, Sabres, Bruins and More

On the Canadiens …

  • Pierre LeBrun: Carey Price met with doctors over the weekend to have more tests done. The Canadiens should have more concrete info early this week.

On the Rangers …

  • Dan Rosen: Derek Stepan has two broken ribs.

On the Ducks …

  • Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Frederik Andersen and Nate Thompson should be returning to the Ducks lineup soon. Andersen has been out since November 21st with an illness. He could return on Friday against the Sharks.

“The biggest thing for me is just getting energy back,” Andersen said. “Having not eaten solid meals for that long in a row takes a lot of energy out of your body. And you got to get that back. It doesn’t just happen overnight. I’m building towards coming back.”

Thompson (offseason shoulder surgery) is back after a two-game conditioning stint in the AHL and is ready “any day now”.

Jiri Sekac has been out since November 1st with a sprained right ankle. He skated before practice but wasn’t going full tilt.

“It’s promising,” Boudreau said. “If you watch him, he’s striding pretty good. I don’t know how long or far away he is yet but it’s an awful lot better than it was three weeks ago.”

On the Sabres …

  • John Vogl: Carlo Colaiacovo traveled with the team to the Detroit. He was at a hospital on Saturday with a “dented trachea.”

On the  Bruins …

  • Boston  Bruins: Kevan Miller has been cleared to return to practice. Medical staff will still need to clear him for game action.
  • Boston Bruins: Coach Claude Julien said that David Pastrnak won’t travel with the team on their upcoming road trip.

On the Maple Leafs …

  • David Alter: Joffrey Lupul missed yesterday’s practice.
  • Jonas Siegel: Lupul is out tonight. He has been bothered by a nagging issue.

On the Panthers …

  • Harvey Fialkov: David Bolland is still out. Dmitri Kulikov is very close to returning.
