TSN: Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson is out for three to five weeks with a left thigh injury that required a procedure. Carlsson had been trying to play through it, and his status for Team Sweden in the Olympics is in question.

Last Friday, Carlsson had the procedure done for a “Morel-Lavallée lesion — a rare degloving injury in which skin and fat become separated from fascia tissue, leaving a fluid-filled space.

Dan Arritt: Ducks Troy Terry missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

Bill Hoppe: Buffalo Sabres forward Josh Norris is out week-to-week, according to coach Lindy Ruff.

Daily Faceoff: The Sabres activate goaltender Alex Lyon from the IR.

Kurt Dusterberg: Carolina Hurricanes Eric Robinson left last night’s game in the first period with an upper-body injury. He’ll be re-evaluated today.

Corey Masisak: Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin was in a car accident yesterday, sustaining minor injuries, and missed last night’s game.

Amalie Benjamin: Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk returned to the lineup after missing their first 47 games of the season, after having surgery to repair a torn adductor muscle and sports hernia back on August 22nd.

“Felt better as it went along. First period was weird, I will say. It was a little strange. Just nothing, nothing mimics a game. It was weird, but the second period felt a little bit better and then the third kind of felt pretty much back to normal.”

Dave McCarthy: Missing last night’s game for the Minnesota Wild were forwards Matt Boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Johansson, and defensemen Jonas Brodin and Zach Bogosian.

Eric Engels: Montreal Canadiens forward Alexandre Texier missed practice yesterday, and his status for tonight is unknown. Forward Kirby Dach could draw in for Texier and skate with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

Jim Biringer: New Jersey Devils coach Sheldon Keefe on Luke Hughes: “Get evaluated, but he is gonna miss time. Won’t play the rest of the road trip, but he is being evaluated to see the extent of time he will miss.”

Mark Masters: Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube on William Nylander (groin): “I don’t know how long the timeline will be for him … I’m not sure when he’s going to be on the ice.”

TSN: Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies had been a game-time decision last night (played), after missing their morning skate.

“It’s obviously bothering him a lot for quite some time, and hasn’t gotten really much better, other than when he gets some breaks, Christmas time and stuff,” Berube explained of what is plaguing Knies. “He comes back, it feels better. It’s an ongoing issue.”

Paul Del Los Santos: Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Dylan Coghlan missed last night’s game with an illness.

Bruce Miles: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Elias Salomonsson missed last night’s game due to illness.
