Last Friday, Carlsson had the procedure done for a “Morel-Lavallée lesion — a rare degloving injury in which skin and fat become separated from fascia tissue, leaving a fluid-filled space.

“It’s obviously bothering him a lot for quite some time, and hasn’t gotten really much better, other than when he gets some breaks, Christmas time and stuff,” Berube explained of what is plaguing Knies. “He comes back, it feels better. It’s an ongoing issue.”
