Western Conference Injuries: Hawks, Stars, Coyotes, Kings, Sharks, Ducks and Preds
Jamie Benn and Ryan Getzlaf
On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago: Forward Marcus Kruger is out for two to three weeks and has been put on the IR.

The Blackhawks are hopeful that Marian Hossa is able to return on Thursday.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Winger Jamie Benn is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. The Stars don’t play until tomorrow.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: The Coyotes put Ryan White on the IR retroactive to December 21st to make room for Alexander Burmistrov.

Max Domi skated for the first time since breaking his hand on December 8th. He just skated, no pucks.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Jon Rosen: Coach Darryl Sutter said that Tyler Toffoli is feeling good and they are hopeful that he could begin skating this week.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz: Marc-Edouard Vlasic doesn’t need surgery. David Schlemko is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and is questionable for tonight.

Kevin Kurz: Vlasic will be out for at least their next two games. Coach Pete DeBoer: “I’m optimistic that after that, we should be good.”

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Center Ryan Getzlaf left Sunday’s game early with a lower-body injury. His status for Wednesday could be determined if he practices today. Getzlaf didn’t practice yesterday.

“He’s improved today from where he was yesterday,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “Just not to a point where we feel he can skate. So we figured it was counterproductive at this point.

“It’s a muscle. It’s not a broken bone or anything. When he heals, it’ll get us an opportunity to get him back in the lineup right away. Right now, it’s day to day. We’ll just have to go forward and see what tomorrow brings.”

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan of the Tennessean: Defesneman P.K. Subban will be out for at least another two to three weeks. GM David Poile is optimistic it won’t be longer.

“We thought that he would be back sooner, but sometimes this is what happens with injuries,” Poile said. “I think this timeframe is going to be a good one. I’ve got my fingers crossed on that.”

Subban has missed eight straight games is a suspected herniated disc. He’s been “working out every day” and is expected to speak with the media this morning.

“P.K. is going to be back, in my mind, in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “Hopefully if I get that date wrong, if it’s off, he’s still coming back. It’s not like he’s not coming back.”
