Amalie Benjamin: Krejci is day-to-day according to coach Bruce Cassidy, and they are hopeful that he’ll be able to play on Saturday.

Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid Atlantic: Defenseman John Carlson took his regular spot at yesterday’s practice. He’s missed their past four games with a lower-body injury.

“It’s a process,” Carlson said. “I’m part of the decision but I’m not any decision-maker. I’m just doing everything I possibly can to get better and be stronger. But, yeah, I feel good.”

Jeremy Rutherford: Coach Mike Yeo said that defenseman Robert Bortuzzo is progressing and he was on the ice yesterday. There were no other updates.

Tracey Myers: Coach Joel Quenneville said that defenseman Michal Rozsival could be available later in the playoffs after having surgery.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Forward Joe Thornton wasn’t able to go last night. Thornton was hopeful his left knee injury would be good. On Tuesday he said he was day-to-day.

Logan Couture was able to go last night after missing seven games.

“Joe is going to make that decision, and nobody else,” DeBoer said. “He’ll tell us – and it’s not just whether he can play, but can he play at a level that he can help us? He knows his body better than anybody, he knows his game better than anybody.”
