Joe Smith: Ryan Callahan on his hip that he had surgery on: “I wasn’t told it would definitely happen or won’t happen. It’s frustrating.”

On the Boston Bruins …

Fluto Shinzawa: Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller has a lower-body injury.

Joe McDonald: The Bruins put forward Matt Beleskey on the IR.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Dean Brown: Chris Wideman didn’t break his nose. The puck to the face resulted stitches to the inside of the nose and fractured his upper jaw.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News: Defenesman Zach Bogosian will have his first practice since Halloween today. Bogosian has been out for the past 19 games with a sprained MCL.

“He’s felt good on the ice, felt comfortable skating,” said coach Dan Bylsma. “He’s gone through progression minus his teammates. You have to get into practice. There is some reaction and movement with the drills” in the morning skate. “That’s a progression for him. Full practice would be super beneficial in seeing where he’s at with his knee.”

There is no timetable for his return.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Elliott Teaford of Inside SoCal: Goaltender Jonathan Quick is now expected to not return until at least mid-February according to Kings GM Dean Lombardi. He was originally expected to return mid-January.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Ted Wyman: Not sounding like Tyler Myers will be back in the lineup anytime soon:  “He’s plateaued in his recovery and he’s not ready to skate yet.”

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz: Joonas Donskoi‘s scratch was partially injury related.

Kevin Kurz: Coach Peter DeBoer had nothing on Logan Couture‘s status. He wouldn’t say if Couture would travel with the team to Montreal or no.
