NHL Injury Updates

Joe McDonald: Boston Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said that forward David Backes is doubtful for the “next couple of games.”

Chris Ryndak of Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres have put defenseman Marco Scandella on the IR and recalled defenseman Lawrence Pilut. Scandella suffered a lower-body injury on October 24th.

Michael Russo: Minnesota Wild defenseman Greg Pateryn may travel with the team on their road trip. He had abdominal surgery during training camp. They are scheduled to have three practices and four morning skates while on the road, so he could be getting closer.

Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens have put forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the IR with a groin injury and recalled forward Ryan Poehling.

Colin Stephenson: New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad skated on his own yesterday and is a possibility for tonight. He’ll skate with the team this morning and see how he feels.

TSN 1200: Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion said that forward Artem Anisimov won’t play on Monday but is a possibility for Tuesday.

TSN 1200: Dorion said that forward Scott Sabourin has a broken nose and some other issues.

Forward Logan Brown suffered an upper-body injury and will be out a week.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins have put forward Patric Hornqvist on the IR with a lower-body injury. He will be out longer-term.

Caley Chelios: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman is hopeful to be able to return by Friday’s game against the Sabres.

“I’m going to do everything in my power to be back but I just got to take it day- by -day.”

Jesse Granger: The Vegas Golden Knights didn’t have any updates on forward Alex Tuch yesterday but they should have an update today after practice.

Justin Emerson: The Golden Knights reassigned goaltender Garret Sparks. Marc-Andre Fleury could be ready to return on Tuesday. They could still recall Sparks before their game if Fleury isn’t ready.
