NHL Rumors: Canadiens, Oilers, Bruins and Kings
Andrei Markov and Nathan Beaulieu of the Montreal Canadiens

On the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens …

  • Brian Wilde: The Oilers should be interested in Canadiens defenseman Nathan Beaulieu. McGuire said that nobody in Montreal should be untouchable. Lars Eller is also the type of player the Oilers need.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

  • Eric Engels: Andrei Markov has a limited no-trade clause this season and next. Alexei Emelin has a full no-trade clause this year, and a limited no-trade clause for the next two year.

On the Boston Bruins …

  • Pierre LeBrun of ESPN: The Bruins and Loui Eriksson’s reps continue to talk. Thinking that term is the main issue.
  • Zack Cox of NESN: Loui Eriksson knows he could be on the move and admits that it’s “a little bit challenging” at times to block out the trade talk.

“We like it here in Boston — my family and everything,” Eriksson said. “We’ll see what happens here in the future, (but) like I said, I like it here.”

  • Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: The Sharks basically paid two second round picks for Roman Polak and the price will only be higher for players like Loui Eriksson, Andrew Ladd, Eric Staal and others. With the reports that the Jets have already been offered a first round pick and a prospect for Ladd, the Bruins could get a nice return for Eriksson if they move him.The Bruins may not want to settle with a pick and prospect for Eriksson. Maybe they could build a package with Eriksson and try to get Kevin Shattenkirk from the Blues. Maybe the Ducks, Wild or Jets would move one of their young defenesman.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

  • Dennis Bernstein: No news on Milan Lucic contract talks, but there is the assumption that he will be re-signing with the Kings.
  • Dennis Bernstein: Andrew Ladd may be the best fit for the Kings when looking at rentals, but the need to improve their defense supercedes.
