McKenzie updates Panarin and Bobrovsky

Bob McKenzie: “The “speculation” thread, not to be confused with the “done deal,” thread, which probably won’t happen until later tonight or tomorrow morning:”

Bob McKenzie: “It doesn’t appear as though Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky will be signed as a set. Signs point toward Bobrovsky ending up in FLA while NYI appear the favourite to land Panarin. Both players are repped by the same agent, Paul Theofanous.”

Bob McKenzie: “But wouldn’t it be something if Panarin and goaltender Semyon Varlamov, who is also represented by Theofanous, ended up as a set with the Isles? If that were to happen, it would mean Robin Lehner would be looking for a home that isn’t NYI or FLA.

Oilers likely out on Connolly, in on Perry?

Ryan Rishaug: Since free agent forward Brett Connolly is unlikely to be signing with the Edmonton Oilers, they may focus back on Alex Chiasson. That may depend on if they feel they are able to sign someone else.

Gustav Nyquist would cost more than Brett Connolly, which is likely too much.

John Shannon: At least four teams are going heavy after winger Corey Perry, including the Oilers.

Teams inquiring about Kadri

John Shannon: The Toronto Maple Leafs are not shopping center Nazem Kadri, but there are teams that are calling the Leafs about him.

Avs and Blackhawks in on Dzingel

Murray Pam: Hearing that the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks are in on Ryan Dzingel. The Blackhawks had some interest at the trade deadline. He also resides in the area.

Brian Hedger: Hearing the Dzingel won’t be returning to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Canucks still among the teams in on Hutton

Rick Dhaliwal: There is still some good interest in defensemen Ben Hutton. As of the morning, the Canucks were still in on him.
