On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago: Jonathan Toews didn’t skate yesterday and missed his fourth consecutive game. Coach Joel Quenneville said that Toews could skate today or tomorrow and is doubtful for tomorrow’s game against the Flyers.

Defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk could play on Saturday.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Lou Korac: Coach Ken Hitchcock said that Joel Edmundson is not ready to return yet.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Dan Wood: Joseph Cramarossa skated yesterday morning. He’s missed the past five games with a lower-body injury.

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan of the Tennessean: Winger James Neal has missed the past two games with an upper-body injury is now listed as week-to-week.

Defenseman Ryan Ellis could return on Saturday from his upper-body injury. He’s missed the past three games.

Defenseman Anthony Bitetto is out six weeks with a broken hand.

Forward Colton Sissons is out with an upper-body injury after being hit face first into the boards.

On the Calgary Flames …

Aaron Vickers of NHL.com: There is still no timetable on when Johnny Gaudreau could return the lineup from his fractured finger.

“We don’t necessarily have any update in terms of timelines and when he’s back, but obviously he’s progressing well,” Calgary general manager Brad Treliving said. “He’s back on the ice and we’ll just take it sort of day by day and see how he progresses. That’s sort of the next step. He’s been out there on his own here for the last three or four days, but anytime you can get him up and moving around and shooting a little bit is a good sign.

“Everybody heals a little differently. We’re still in the wait-and-see mode. We’ll continue to progress him and hopefully sooner rather than later . But again, not putting any timeframes on it yet.”

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan: Forward Justin Abdelkader left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

Helene St. James: The Red Wings have had injuries to Jimmy Howard, Brendan Smith, Tyler Bertuzzi and Justin Abdelkader in the past week.

On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Carolina Hurricanes: Elias Lindholm left last night’s game early with a lower-body injury.

On the Boston Bruins …

Boston Bruins: Coach Claude Julian said that Noel Acciari is “inching closer” to returning to the lineup. He skated with the main group yesterday at practice. He hasn’t taken contact yet.

Boston Bruins: Zdeno Chara skated with teammates yesterday, but wasn’t able to go last night.

On the New Jersey Devils …

Andrew Gross: The Devils activated Taylor Hall off the IR yesterday and put winger Reid Boucher on waivers.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith: Ryan Callahan is on the IR and eligible to return after the weekend. Next Thursday is the earliest he’s able to return.

On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir: Coach Barry Trotz said that Zach Sanford will be re-evaluated after the weekend after playing three games in the AHL.
