NHL Rumors: Bruins and Avs – Carlo, McAvoy and Landeskog
The Boston Bruins may not be interested in moving Brandon Carlo in a deal for Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog

On the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche …

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Haggerty thinks the Bruins shouldn’t trade either Brandon Carlo or Charlie McAvoy in a package for Avs forward Gabriel Landeskog, and it appears the Bruins don’t want to either.

The Fourth Period: The Bruins are looking for a top-six winger, but nothing appears to be imminent. Reports have the Bruins interested in Landeskog, but there doesn’t appear to be a fit. The Bruins could take on up to $7.5 million in pro-rated salaries.

Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Bob McKenzie on TSN 690 talking about the Boston Bruins. McKenzie admits that he’s been focused on the World Juniors and not the NHL in the past month, but will start investigating more NHL stuff beginning yesterday. McKenzie thinks Claude Julien is safe in Boston. On the Colorado Avalanche – Boston Bruins rumors.

“But whether it’s Landeskog or Duchene or anybody that Colorado may or may not be willing to trade – I keep hearing names like people want Brandon Carlo or Charlie McAvoy. I’d be really, really surprised if on a blueline that’s trying to be reconstructed that the Bruins would consider giving up – I can’t imagine they would give up Charlie McAvoy. Not after what I saw at the world junior championship. He looks like a real keeper. And Brandon Carlo has been exceptional this year. Different type of defenseman, but nevertheless.

“What’s the No. 1 thing the Bruins need to do – aside from make the playoffs – is to overhaul their defense. And when you draft young defensemen like Brandon Carlo and Charlie McAvoy and they look to be as good as they’re going to be – boy, it’s awfully difficult to part with them. That said, they’re also getting older up front. But they’ve got some kids. I know they’re not ready yet, but Zach Senyshyn has been shooting the lights out. He had a hat trick on the weekend in the OHL. I think he’s been shooting the lights out for Sault Ste. Marie. So they’ve got some kids there. We’ll see where everything goes.”
