NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars, Rick Nash, and the New York Rangers
Do the New York Rangers look to trade Kevin Hayes. The Rangers and Boston Bruins have interest in Michael Grabner.
On the Boston Bruins …

Mark Divver: Hearing that the Bruins have checked in on Michael Grabner.

On the Dallas Stars …

Sean Shapiro: The Stars are eligible to sign Tyler Seguin to a contract extension after July 1st, and it’s a high priority for the Stars. Seems like both sides would like to get a new deal done before the start of the season. John Tavares‘ next contract will definitely have an impact on talks.

On Rick Nash

Darren Dreger: There has been significant interest in winger Rick Nash, with at least five teams interested.

Dan Rosen: The Rangers aren’t ruling out having an interest in Nash. He is not one of their targets right now, and may not be one of the five teams that Dreger mentioned are pursuing Nash.

On the New York Rangers …

Larry Brooks of the NY Post: Rangers GM Jeff Gorton may be deciding on whether to trade Kevin Hayes or Mika Zibanejad.

It was reported over the weekend that the 26-years old Hayes is looking for a five-year contract at upwards of $5.5 million a season. Zibanejad was 24-years old last offseason when he signed a five-year extension at $5.3 million.

If the Maple Leafs are able to sign John Tavares, they will likely need to find a team to take on injured Nathan Horton‘s $5.3 million cap hit that is up after the 2019-20 season. Would the Rangers be interested in taking that on for a young asset and/or a second-round pick.

If the Rangers are looking at the free agent market for some grit, some options could be Leo Komarov, Antoine Roussel, and Tommy Wingels.

Believe the Rangers have some interest in bringing back Michael Grabner, not as much of Rick Nash.
