Wyshnski: “What? This is the first recorded trade rumor about Bowen Byrum. Everybody just mark this down. It is historic. Oh, wait, I meant, I meant this week. The first trade rumor this week about Bowen Byram.
Marek: “Yes, he is paid $6.25 million. That is both the salary cap, that is both salary and cap hits, and there is no trade protection here.

I think that there’s something bigger at play here. Okay, so here’s my thought, and it relates to the trade we saw with the San Jose Sharks yesterday. So, San Jose and Buffalo completing a trade , Yarmo Kekalainen sending defenseman Michael Kesselring, whom you referenced earlier. So, Mike Grier, the San Jose Sharks, in exchange for flipping pick 20 with pick 27.
Now, who hosts a draft this year?
Wyshynski: “The Buffalo Sabres.
Marek: “Correct. Very good. Jarmo make a big splash. How about something like Bo Byram and pick 20 in exchange for pick seven or nine? Never disqualify the home team’s desire to do something big at home.
