Mollie Walker: New York Rangers coach Mike Sullivan when asked what he thinks are the biggest areas of need for the Rangers heading into the offseason:
“I think we’ll have some opportunities potentially to add some puck-moving ability on our blue line. I think there might be some opportunities to improve our bottom six at the forward position, where players might be able to play certain roles that could allow us to take some of our core players out of situations.”
Vince Z. Mercogliano: Sullivan when followed up when asked about their top-six and the scoring issues:
“I do think we have the makings of guys that that can finish and produce offense for us. Obviously, when you look at our overall year, that was one of our challenges. I think we made strides on the other side of the puck, in particular in the defensive zone.
Our coaches were encouraged with the structure and that we set out to put in place, and the buy in that we got from the players. So from that standpoint, I thought we were harder to play against, but I do think the offensive side is something that, that we have to look to improve on, and that can happen number different ways.”
