Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Jacob Trouba‘s two-year, $6 million doesn’t hurt his trade value, but it would be a surprise if the team attitude changes. Don’t see them lowering their trade demands now that he’s signed. It doesn’t sound like the Jets ever got close to moving Trouba. Teams that didn’t have what the Jets wanted, tried to get other teams involved, but with no luck.
Sounding like Jets forward Alex Burmistrov could use a change of scenery.
Teams are hoping that the Canucks will become desperate and will consider trading 2015 first round pick Brock Boeser or 2016 first round pick Olli Juolevi. Can’t see it happening unless they get a really good deal.
The Ducks originally had three members of their management team scheduled to take in a Grand Rapids (Red Wings) AHL game over the weekend. Scout Dave Nonis ended up not going. The Ducks are reportedly interested in Anthony Mantha.

Pierre LeBrun of TSN: The Kings explored all the options after Jonathan Quick and Jeff Zatkoff went down with injuries. Peter Budaj‘s play lessen their urgency to make a trade. Zatkoff has returned and the Kings can hold off on acquiring a goaltender. They are believed to have looked Reto Berra, Mike Condon and Ondrej Pavelec, among others.
“You have still to be cognizant that you have cap issues not only now but also going forward, whether the contract is moving forward into next year and things like that,” said Lombardi.
“Sure, we looked around, you wouldn’t be doing your job if you didn’t. But just weren’t practical. We’ll just have to keep fighting our way through it.”
LeBrun thinks that if Zatkoff and Budaj can keep things steady in net, the Kings won’t need to make a move. If they faulter, they will have to look at their options again.
