New York Rangers Mika Zibanejad doesn’t want to go anywhere
Vince Z. Mercogliano: New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad said that he wants to be in New York. He added:
“I’ve been here for 10 years. I’ve gone through the ups and downs. For me, yeah retool or whatever, but you just look around the league and see how fast it can go. … I’m optimistic, especially with the young guys coming in, too, and playing. I don’t feel like we need a whole lot. I want to be here to turn this around.”

Matt Marchese: “But is there a team that you think has the most potential for a big roster turnover this offseason?
Friedman: “I would say, Detroit now. Like, I like, I like, I’ll tell you this, like Steve Yzerman has forgotten more about hockey than I’ll ever know. But, and I don’t know that he’s even considering this, but I would not trade (Dylan) Larkin. You would have to give me a real reason to do that. Like it has to be like highway robbery.
But like, you know, and I know him like he, he’s looked for guys with term. Like he’s walked away for deals where term was, but Quinn Hughes where term wasn’t involved. And or like some sort of commitment wasn’t involved.
But I just think the way they’ve ended. And, you know, someone else made a good point to me, they said, you know, last year, Yzerman took criticism for not helping at the deadline. This year, he went out, and he had a good goaltending combo, (John) Gibson and (Cam) Talbot. I mean, they both got hurt, but that’s the risk you take with those guys. He’s got two more really promising young goalies in the system, (Sebastian) Cossa and (Trey) Augustine. And he’s got, he went out and got (Justin) Faulk, and he added somebody else who I’m forgetting right now.

Like, you can’t look at him and say he didn’t try to help them. And so, like, I think, like that (last game of the season). Like, I, you can’t make decisions based on one game. But that’s not going to help how they already feel, right? So I think Detroit is going to be really interesting.”
