Bobrovsky not a fan of in-person meetings … He’s in New York now with Panarin
David Dwork: Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky are both in New York. Panarin is expected to meet with both the Rangers and the Islanders. Bobrovsky may not be personally meeting with either team, but that doesn’t mean that his reps won’t be. Apparently, he doesn’t like these types of meetings.
David Dwork: Haven’t heard if both Panarin and Bobrovsky met in person with the Florida Panthers. Would obviously say something if both were present.
Oilers in on Connolly
TSN: Unrestricted free agent Brett Connolly‘s agent Gerry Johansson was on 630 CHED radio in Edmonton yesterday and said they had a good talk with Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland. Connolly has received quiet a few call and his next contract should be fairly reasonable. Johansson said that six to eight teams have shown “real interest.”
“There’s not a much better opportunity in the NHL than the right side in Edmonton,” he said. “That’s a pretty big opportunity for someone like Brett. And obviously he’s a (Prince George, British Columbia) guy, so he’s a Western Canadian. We’ve got a lot of calls to make, still, and we’ve got to go through a process and obviously it’s up to Brett, but … Edmonton would be a great spot.”
